At Von Bargen’s, we offer regular, in-store appraisal clinics to provide you with fair market values of your jewelry. Appraisals are absolutely necessary for distribution of estates amongst heirs, dissolutions of marriage, sales and post-loss assessments. We strongly recommend scheduling the pieces on your homeowner’s insurance and updating the appraisals every two years to keep pace with current market values.
Our appraisers each have decades of experience in the jewelry business and training from the Gemological Institute of America as well as the American Gem Society. Appraisers regularly attend industry events and stay up to date with trends and new techniques.
What’s Included with a Jewelry Appraisal?
Your Appraisal Includes: Detailed descriptions of your pieces, enlarged photographs, diagrams and diamond plots that give you a full understanding of what you own. Most importantly, it will protect you fully in the event of a loss.
We adhere to the standards put forth by the American Gem Society, American Society of Appraisers and the National Association of Jewelry Appraisers.

Estate Jewelry Appraisals
If you’re in need of sorting out jewelry from an estate, Von Bargen’s can help you.
We can save you some money by providing an initial opinion on what is worth appraising. We’ll sort your items worth appraising up to a half hour for free. If more time is required we can continue sorting for $120 per hour. Once sorting is complete the written estate appraisals will commence at $120/hr. with a 1 hour minimum. An estate appraisal will provide a brief description and picture of the item(s) with an approximate current selling value.
Values provided for any type of appraisal are not an offer to purchase your jewelry.
